Provides respiratory protection against certain organic vapors or acid gases. Approved by NIOSH against no more than 500 p.p.m of organic vapors, 5p.p.m. of chlorine, 25 p.m. of hydrogen chloride and 25 p.p.m. of sulfur dioxide. Used with 3M full face and full face media respirators with bayonet filter holder.

The cartridge and filter for organic vapors and acid gases 6003 of 3M ™ provides protection against certain organic particles and vapors in different environments. When used properly with an approved 3M respirator, this respirator cartridge provides respiratory protection against certain organic vapors, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, or hydrogen fluoride. The cartridge can be used for vapor concentrations up to ten times above the permissible exposure limit (PEL) with the average facial parts or up to 50 times on the PEL with complete facial parts that have been subjected to tests of quantitative adjustment. Recommended applications for the cartridge include assembly and mechanics, material loading, changes, distribution of chemicals, cleaning, cleaning, handling, painting, parts cleaning, pesticide application, dust and the application processes of sealants. The inventory requirements and training requirements for safety equipment are reduced because this selection of respirator cartridges works for many different applications. This cartridge is frequently used in the following sectors: agriculture, aluminum reduction, chemical manufacturing, laboratories, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, cellulose processing, paper processing and public services. This cartridge for organic vapor and acid gas works with 3M ™ 6000, 7000 and FF-400 series complete and middle facial parts with bayonet mountings. The cartridge is approved by the NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) for environments that contain certain organic vapors and acid gases. This cartridge should not be used in environments that are immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH, for its acronym in English). The cartridge has the "yellow" color code in the NIOSH system. Breathing organic vapors and acid gases can pose a health risk. NIOSH is a federal government regulatory agency that tested and approved the 3M ™ acidic and acidic vapor cartridge 6003, which is designed to help reduce exposure to certain organic vapors and acid gases.
